James Robert Langabeer, PhD coaches leaders to improve their decision-making around wealth and health. Trained as a decision scientist and behavioral economist, he focuses on how we make important decisions. He holds the Robert Graham Professorship for Entrepreneurial Informatics at the University of Texas Health Science Center, and has taught thousands of students in finance, leadership, strategy, systems management, and decision-making at UTHealth, Boston University, and the University of Houston.
He also is the Founder and Managing Partner of Yellowstone Research LLC, where he consults with select leaders and companies to improve strategy and achieve results. He has created the Mindful Money Management Model (TM) to help people optimize their daily money management, and has published over 125 scientific articles, authored multiple books, and has been a popular keynote speaker at dozens of national conferences. He has significant experience as a senior executive in multiple industries (including software, healthcare, retail, and petrochemical sectors).
James holds a PhD in Management and Decision Sciences from the University of Lancaster in England and an MBA from Baylor University. His undergraduate training was in management and economics from the University of Texas, San Antonio. He is a Registered Investment Adviser (RIA) with the Texas Securities Board, and holds both the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designations. He is licensed as a Private Investigator, is a Six Sigma Black Belt, and is a master-trained financial and business coach.
